1980–1982 Works in England at the ceramics workshops of Diana Rose and at the Dartington Potters Training Workshop, in each instance, for one to two months
1983 Six months practical training in ceramics with Ruth Duckworth, Chicago
1984 Begins a two-and-a-half-year apprenticeship under Tatsuzo Shimaoka in Mashiko, Japan
Since 1987 Active in Düdelsheim
1988–1996 Multi-month study residencies every two years at ceramics workshops in Japan, including those of, among others, Darice Veri and Masajuki Miyajima, and Chikako and Masamichi Yoshikawa
